Brayford Sod is a family run business that has been operating in the Alliston area since 1974. We grow approximately 1500 acres of sod on rich sandy loam soil. Because of our light soil conditions, we can harvest early in the spring and later in the fall. Almost all of our sod is irrigated which ensures beautiful, healthy, green sod throughout the entire growing season. We are a community driven company focused on quality and service. We have incorporated years of knowledge and experience to develop our own blend of pure, certified #1 Kentucky Bluegrass. This blend is much more drought tolerant and disease resistant than previous Kentucky Bluegrasses.

We continue to grow Kentucky Bluegrass, not only because it has consistently proven to be the most suitable for the climate and conditions in Ontario, but also because it has the unique ability to spread and fill in without the need for overseeding. Other grasses, like rye and fescue, require constant overseeding to achieve the same results.
